A week-long vacation offers us the
fun time to travel and get away with everything. While, many others prefer to
stay at home and avoid the long heavy traffic while bearing the summer’s extreme
heat.
You, catching up some sleep and
energy, you might just want to add watching movies in between to include some
entertainment on your staycation.
Get a grip of your T.V. remote
control, as we present The Times’ List of films that might take your staycation
in a relaxing yet meaningful level.
1. Heaven is for Real

The story is
based on a best-selling 2010 book of the same title, and was written out of the
real life experience of the author and main character, Todd Burpo, a pastor who
had his four-year old son survived a very critical illness. Upon his son’s
recovery, the child begins insist that he has been to heaven.
Heaven is not a
physical place as what most think it is, but a personal state of heart, mind,
and awareness.
2. The Five People You Meet in Heaven
The film is based a
novel by Mitch Albom. It follows the life and death of an amusement park
maintenance, Eddie. After he died and sent to heaven, he encounters five people
who had significant impacts throughout his life.
Was there at least
one who was grateful to meet me this day? Or, was there anyone I had forgotten
to be grateful with?
3. God is not Dead
The film is about
a Christian college student who is challenged by his philosophy professor who
declares his God is just a non-existent.
Understanding the
wisdom of a Supreme Being’s existence is the detachment of the knowledge the
world offers.
4. War Room
The movie features
the Jordans who seem to have it all, great jobs, a daughter and a dream house, they
don’t know they are about to take their lives in an unexpected turn for the
better when Elizabeth Jordan meets her new client, who unexpectedly bridges the
couple’s happiness through prayer.
Prayers never
exist to alter what we see as sufferings into a blessing, rather, prayers exist
to alter our perspectives to see sufferings not as sufferings but also a
blessing.
5. Passion of the Christ
It depicts the passion
of Jesus Christ according to the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. It
mainly covers Jesus’ final hours, from his agony in the Garden of Gethsemane up
to the brutal scourge and crucifixion.
Even the greatest
One, suffered a lot. To serve is to be great.
